The National Fire Authority (NFA) is a government owned commercial entity that is accountable and responsible for the provision of Emergency Management Services to the people of Fiji.   With its new Strategic direction, NFA is undergoing major Reforms that are necessary to meet the expectations of Government and the members of the community in providing an all-encompassing Emergency Management Service.  In doing so, NFA seeks to appoint suitably qualified personnel as advertised below:

Career Fire Fighter:

NFA intends to conduct a recruitment of seventy-two (72) suitable and qualified personnel to undergo the firefighter recruitment program to become full time career firefighters. Only after successfully completing the firefighter recruitment program will the successful candidates be appointed as career firefighters. Interested applicants who meet or exceed the following minimum qualification requirements and demonstrated skills are invited to apply for selection to undergo the recruitment program:

 

  • Pass in FSLC with preferably good marks in Maths, English and Physics.
  • Completion of a Trade Education in the field of Engineering would be an added advantage
  • Must submit a certified Police clearance with application
  • Must also submit a certified Medical clearance with application
  • Must be physically and mentally fit
  • Must be a competent swimmer
  • Must be passionate about firefighting and be prepared to serve the communities of Fiji
  • Must be below 30 years of age
  • Pass a set of physical fire-fighting challenges, face to face interview and aptitude test.
  • Possession of a Group 2 or 6 driving licence would be an added advantage
  • Be prepared to travel to Suva to undertake the relevant recruitment selection process
  • Be prepared to be appointed to any NFA station Fiji wide at the completion of the 10 weeks recruitment training program
  • Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19, including Booster vaccination
  • Be prepared to take a drug test during the course of the Selection process
  • Must submit a certified TIN letter
  • Must submit your FNPF or joint FRCA/FNPF membership card
  • Provide your Bank account details.

 

Only those who meet the above criteria need to apply. Applicants who are shortlisted will be required to undergo the fitness test and firefighting challenges as part of the pre-selection process. Only those who pass these fitness and firefighting challenges will proceed to the next phase of the selection process.

Please note that incomplete application forms will not be considered. Candidates are also advised to provide all details and requirements as per the Recruitment application package.

 

All completed application forms must be submitted with a cover letter, an updated CV with a valid telephone contact, certified copies of academic certificates, a full length photo together with the requirements listed above, full contact details of three (3) most recent referees and delivered to:
