Emergency Procedures: Dangerous Goods Fire, Spills, Leaks

It is important that all staff and visitors in your buildings will know what to do in case of fire or emergency.Below is an outline of emergency procedures for dangerous goods related incidents which can be displayed around your premises.

 

 
1. Assist person(s) in immediate danger-ONLY IF SAFE TO DO SO   2. Restrict the danger area(s) ONLY IF SAFE TO DO SO
     
 

3. Phone 911. Ask for FIRE Brigade, Police or Ambulance.
Give operator clear details of location and incident

  4. Attend to the Emergency-Trained Persons only ONLY IF SAFE TO DO SO (Use appropriate emergency action)
     
 
5. Evacuate to the nominated assembly area remaining clear of the danger area   6. Remain at assembly area and ensure everybody is accounted for

Established by virtue of the National Fire Service Act, 1994 the National Fire Authority assumed responsibilities to provide fire services for the entire nation of Fiji in February 1995.
