NFA conducts rescue drill

National Fire Authority (NFA) and the Volunteer First Responder (VFR) volunteers from Suva conducted mock basic rescue drills at the Lomary Secondary School along the Queens Highway on Friday, April 12.

NFA Pacific Harbour personal conducted a mock drill on vertical rope rescue simulating a victim requiring immobilization and rescue.

NFA Pacific Harbour personal with the use of the rescue equipment rescued the victim. The drills followed a Fire Safety briefing to students and teachers by the NFA.

Established by virtue of the National Fire Service Act, 1994 the National Fire Authority assumed responsibilities to provide fire services for the entire nation of Fiji in February 1995.
