NFA Attends Nakasi House Fire

National Fire Authority (NFA) attended to a house fire incident at Matana Street in Nakasi this afternoon.

At 12.51pm, Nausori Fire Station received a fire emergency call and immediately responded. Upon arrival at 1.00pm, the Fire Team saw the corrugated iron and timber structured house fully engulfed in flames.

The Fire Team used water from the fire trucks and also used the fire hydrant in the area to extinguish the fire.

Four fire trucks, two from Nausori and a fire truck each from Suva and Valelevu Fire Stations were engaged to put out the fire.

The Fire Teams also managed to stop the fire from spreading to other houses in the area. No one was at home at the time of the fire.

NFA investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Established by virtue of the National Fire Service Act, 1994 the National Fire Authority assumed responsibilities to provide fire services for the entire nation of Fiji in February 1995.
